Well...in times like this, "eye for eye..." is such a bad policy. Things are bad in London, at the moment but it pales against the atrocities that are happening in Palestine, Iraq, in the African continent. But still, thank God that the attacks were not as bad as it could have been. And times like this is when being called stiff upper lippers are good. People were calm, somewhat, and did the best they can to help other people in the midst of terror. There was panic, yes but there were also a coming together, people became a unit, rather than individuals and that was what was needed.
It is it all in the mentality, I guess.
Still I don't think that with the politician should be really right-wing and spouting conservative platitude and feeling completely wronged. The people were hurt by the politicians' previous actions (or inaction) and they (the politicians) take it as an affront to them. Perhaps it was, as the attacks happened right smack in the centre of their house. But if you throw grenades into other people's living room, you should expect people throwing stones into yours...hmm
Well, I'm not saying that agree with the terrorists' attacks and since their motivation are unclear (besides the same platitudes as delivered before), who knows why. It is true that the attacks were unlawful, cowardice, and inhumane but the same things can be said about the actions of most so called legitimate governments. Doesn't the irony just kills you? Both sides doing the same bullshit. When will it ever stop?
It's times like this is when "an eye for an eye..." policy, is just a bullshit policy, aye.
Anyways, please take time to look away from the ugliness from the world and appreciate the little things in life that good, simple and wholesome. Renew one's spirit to survive and more importantly to live and to love.

on 19th June 2005...
|
|
These are pictures of some of my favourite kids and later on, pictures of some more kids and perhaps some adults too, whom are all my favourite people.
The occasion? :: Ainur's, Amirul's &baby Azri's joint birthday celebrations ::
Havoc consumed the house...not helped by the mother's panic...kekeke
In the the picture you can clearly see how is the birthday gal [the one with the Birthday Girl badge on, duh], unfortunately, the boys were a bit more less accomadating with me, only blurred pictures of them. But I'm sure the parents would put more pictures of them - http://azizol.fotopages.com

<the green trolley in the grey sky>
|
|
this series is, for me, a mixture of blandness and contrast <heh> i can see that the pictures are boring but i feel excited at the same time.
It could be that the sequence of the pictures gives an illusion of burgeoning, of growth. moving outwards and forwards (or maybe backwards, depends on one's perspective). The pictures seem to convey a sense of 'aloneness' which is not necessarily loneliness <hmmm>
it is strange how time moves. it is strange how time stills. it seems only yesterday the world moved for us and now it seems that it has moved without us.
stand still against the RAGE and the PAIN. stand stiff against the CONFUSION and the LOSS. stand alone against the WORLD...without you by my side.
I still stand even if you have fallen. I will stand even if you are gone. I will keep on standing for you, even if you do not know about it. I am here standing. For you. Waiting for the time to begin once more.
For I am here, all in ...all the way

life is like looking through a "fishbowl" lense...
|
|
....everything that right in the centre of your lense, is blown out of proportion and perspective. While everything that is outside of the centre is grossly distorted.
I guess that's why people are really short sighted, in their judgement, in their choices of actions and words. What's immediate gains great importance relative to in the distance....skewness of importance.
I'm the type of person that worries about someones and somethings when there are in front of me. When they are not, I just take it for granted that they are well. Well of heart, of soul, of physical, of emotion...of everything basically.
I am also the type that you have to tell me that there is something wrong, I would not know nor would I notice without it. Of course there are exceptions but...."out of sight, out of mind" comes to mind.
<heh>
Anyways - I'm sorry... but the picture is nothing great but I love it anyway. Yellow usually have a bad affect on me but in this picture, it has an almost calming effect on me here.
